The National Football League is an integral part of American culture, practically owning a day of the week. Though they do not release their annual financial data, they are valued upwards of $45 billion placing them tantamount with some of the world’s largest companies. However, the current corporate structure significantly limits its organizational effectiveness; recently, the organization’s culture and questionable practices have been largely scrutinized. Although the National Football League continues to generate high revenues due to favorable competitive forces, we recommend they provide a more sustainable product with a focus on public perception to address issues of misfit and centrality.
In the article titled, “Arrogance, Deceit, Oversaturation At Root of NFL’s Ratings Decline”, CBS Boston writer Michael Hurley provides a long list of reasons as to why he believes the usually strong viewership and high ratings of the NFL on TV have gone down dramatically this year. Hurley touches upon a myriad of varying potential causes for the decline of the NFL’s ratings in order to provide his audience, likely sports fans, with an idea as to what exactly is going on to create such a problem. Although Hurley notifies the audience of various factors that may be causing the ratings to go down, his argument lacks depth and credibility due to an evident lack of ethos. Furthermore, Hurley seems to undermine the problem’s complex nature by hastily

Although technology then had to improve and TVs had to be more common for this media to become popular which came true. “Coverage of the NFL increased in newspapers across the country” (“All Decades” 1). When people saw the NFL in newspapers they became interested and more people became fans.
A way to do this was to get more teams in the league. There were two other pro football leagues at this team, the All American Football Conference (AAFC) and the American Football League (AFL). There was a small merger (combination of two things) between the AAFC and the NFL which brought three teams to the NFL, but had no impact to popularity. Pete Rozelle instigated the process of a merger between the lead rival, the AFL. The process of the merger began with the two rival leagues trying to beat each other in a popularity contest by acquiring the best players from the other league.
Not only is the National Football League (NFL) the most popular sports league in America, it also draws in the highest revenue of any sporting league in the United States. Los Angeles holds the second largest GDP of any city in the United States, and the NFL runs on a model of revenue sharing among its owners and franchises. The National Football League is one of the most important leagues around the world. It doesn’t matter who is going to play. Tens of millions of people watch the games. The NFL is the most popular show on TV and obviously the sport that represents the American culture. In reality, the NFL is about a public business trying to generate capital gains from stadiums and TV.
Career interview What I want to do when I graduate from college and walk across the stage and receive my degree, is to be in Sports Management or anything where I am involved with sports, because I grew up all my life around it, and it is just something I know and love. I was fortunate to be given the opportunity to interview someone that is doing something that I am interested in and also to see where he began and how he got to his position within the company that he works for. The person I interviewed was Joe Clark, who is the Vice President of Ticket Sales, Service and Youth Programs for the San Antonio Spurs, and has been with the organization for 30 years. It was a great experience and interesting interview because I was able to ask him questions about his work style and how his education prepared him for the job he has today.
