People have shown examples of evil during the holocaust and the building of the great wall but that doesn't mean the human race is a evil spices. Looking back it's obvious people are nice as well. This topic is thoroughly covered in William Golding’s book Lord of the Flies, when a group of young british school boys crash on an island. The boys quickly realize that no adults survived the crash. Following this they build communities and try to work out a working social system, they eventually fail and one of the characters Jack forms his own tribe of hooligans who just want to hangout. One name for that selfish animalistic seed of evil is Id. in Sigmund Freud’s Theory of Id Ego and Superego he describes Id as “the part of our personality that contains our primitive impulses--such as thirst, anger, hunger--and the desire for instant gratification or release.” and describes the Ego as “the part of our personality that maintains a balance between our impulses (our id) and our conscience (our superego).” (An Introduction to Psychoanalytic Criticism) According to Freud’s idea of ego being the argument of the shoulder angel (superego) and shoulder devil (id) there are 2 constant sides of both good (superego) and evil (id) but one can not take over completely it is a constant struggle but if and when one wins they will have to fight over another
