Human civilization has been built upon a society. A society that is thrived upon happiness and keeping away evil. Everyday life goes on without a thought of losing everything. Sometimes though, losing everything is just what happens. Civilization can just disappear and what is left are lost, souls. People can turn crazy from the lost everything. A beast can be released from these people. Everyone has a hidden beast that recedes deep down. Civilization is just what keeps the beast in. What helps keep it inside is all the good in the world. The good can be anything that people live by. When the good is gone though, that is when evil comes out. Evil can rule over anyone just like happiness can. A mixture of where when good is gone evil will prosper. Little things in life that can make a day good. Things from a house with heating or a water supply. For Ralph though having a fire is the good in his life. These little things can ruined by all sorts of disaster. Within Lord of the Flies, specific people deal with losing all their good. Fire for them is a holy grail in their world. When that fire recedes the gloomy dark seeps into the world. Nightmares rise from the dark and create terror. Simon was a spiritual human and was constantly happy. He was needed when everything went dark. His outlooks are what the kids on the island had hoped for. When Simon was murdered by the group that signified the end of all good. With the good now gone all that was left was just pure evil. Jack’s evil outlooks quickly consumed the island. Sadness took over Ralph’s life along with the others. Jack became a evil dictator just like Adolf Hitler. Before Adolf came into play Germany was a huge powerhouse. They were happy with how powerful they were. Just like Jack was on the island. Then WWI came around and they lost everything. The Treaty of Versailles had destroyed them. When Germany fell Adolf Hitler rose as a dictator. With the good gone from the world what was left was a tyrant. Hitler took control of Germany and brought great destruction upon others. On a rampage, Hitler went on to kill millions of people. Jack followed Hitler’s way of life by creating a group of people that would bend to his will. Outside of the book Germany was bent to Hitler’s will. Evil can corrupt anything that it touches. Good is all that can stop the spread. When good disappears what matters is how people react. It all depends on if there is any good
