No action is free of consequences, and the decisions made throughout an individuals life can make or break the following course of events.
Are people in control of their destiny? Having no power over one’s destiny is an important theme in William Shakespeare’s, Romeo and Juliet. We are in told in the prologue that fate is going to drive the story. Romeo and Juliet are not in control of their lives. It is predetermined destiny, not free choice that manipulates the lives of these two lovers.
“The road to hell is paved with good intentions”- Samuel Johnson. This quote symbolizes that good intentions can have horrible consequences. There is an equal and opposite reaction to every decision made in Romeo and Juliet. The thesis statement that will be used is that no matter if the decision is good their is always a disastrous outcome that results. Life is never what it seems actions made by good people have a way of turning awful.
Do you believe that love could ever conquer evil? In Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet fall in love but their families are at war, so they kill themselves when they feel the couldn't ever be together. This ends the families feuding. One point of view is that love conquer evil and another is that evil conquers love. I believe that love and evil conquer each other in this dramatic story.
Does good beat Evil? I don't think good beat evil because in Romeo and Juliet they were always good so that they wouldn't get in trouble by there parents so they could see each other more often. But they were evil at the same time because they both snuck out so they could see each other but they were also good so that they could do more things. Juliet and Romeo were bad at times also.
In many high schools, 9th graders read stories from different times and of different genres in their english classes. Notably, one of the most prominent stories read by high schoolers is The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. However, there is controversy that high schoolers should not read this Shakespearean play because many argue that it is not relevant to what teens deal with on a daily basis. Despite the fact that the tragedy takes place in the 14th century, teens were no different back then. As a matter of fact, The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet presents topics that present-day teens still struggle with such as brain development, tunnel vision, and how to correctly approach suicidal teens.
Hate impacts society more than love because hate can affect people directly and indirectly. In Romeo and Juliet early on we learn that two families hate each other the Montagues and Capulets Romeo is a Montague and Juliet is a Capulet. Their families ancient grudge causes a downward spiral of death and sadness throughout the whole story and everybody is affected in a negative way because of the families grudge. In the story a young couple falls madly in love but their love is denied by multiple obstacles leading back to their families grudge. Romeo meets Juliet at a capulet party and they instantly fall in love not knowing each other is a part of their families rival.
Emotions are what propel you forward to reach your goal, but what also stop you from breaking your limits. They are what weigh into our decisions and help lead us to the choices we forever live with. Not only can they determine what we do, but also when and how we do it. At times they are stronger than others, pulling us forward or throwing us back as if we have absolutely no control. Just like in Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, the entire lives of two teenagers led by the emotions that they couldn’t ignore.
In William Shakespeare’s he writes a play telling a dramatic event of two lovers ‘’Romeo and Juliet’’ that have to keep their love a secret because of their family hatred for each other that will lead to a tragic event that will cause the two lovers to die. In William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” hate is shown to be stronger than love because Romeo kills Tybalt, Juliet dad was going to throw her in the streets and let her starve, die of hunger if she didn't marry Paris, and Romeo and Juliet die because of hate. One way hate is shown to be stronger than love in “Romeo and Juliet” is Romeo killed Tybalt. In Act 3 Scene 1 Tybalt wanted to fight Romeo because he hated him, but Romeo Tybalt. In the world that we live in today, there are many things that we face daily. Whether it be illness, love or just bad decisions, everybody encounters them and many more. Rash decisions are made on a very common basis among people. A lot of stuff affect the decisions you make. May it be, being too young and not having enough experience to make good decisions, or just the lack of care of the outcome.
Romeo and Juliet have a lot of bad luck like when the Capulet’s killed a Montague, and when Romeo killed Tybalt. It’s the long-standing family feuding that also kills Romeo and Juliet. The long-standing family feuding causes the death of Romeo and Juliet. Romeo is a Montague and Juliet is a Capulet, which might cause some reckless between the groups.
Romeo and Juliet is a well-known play written by William Shakespeare. Even though it is famous for being a love story, Shakespeare demonstrates that rebellion is closely tied together either it through the characters: Juliet, Romeo and Tybalt. By defying their families, authority and society's expectations, they set in motion the events in this tragedy. Romeo’s rebellion against society's expectations and his own family, the Montagues, is because of his love. His love of Rosaline is his first demonstration of defiance.
According to Derek Landy, a famous irish author and screenwriter, “ Violence is never the answer, until it’s the only answer.” This message stays true in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. In this dreamful play, there are two passionate lovers. On one hand there is Romeo, belonging to the Montague family, and on the other hand there is Juliet, belonging to the Capulet family. Unfortunately, for Romeo and Juliet, their families have been fighting in a never ending feud against each other.
In my opinion I think that the feud between the two main families, the Capulets and the Montagues, is the most responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s death. The conflict between these two families is so distasteful that it causes Romeo and Juliet even more of a struggle as they try to find and keep their love. This conflict between the Capulets and the Montagues has been going on for a very long time and neither side is willing to make up for whatever may have happened in the past. Because of this a strong dislike is portrayed when someone sees a person from the opposite side. If the family feud wouldn’t have existed Romeo and Juliet would not have any large reason to hide their relationship.
In conclusion, Romeo and Juliet is a story in which love is stronger than hate. The story has many examples where love is stronger than hate. In the end Lord Capulet and Montague end the dispute after Romeo, Juliet, and Paris die. Romeo and Juliet having so much love for each other despite being from families that totally hate each other is the main theme of the story and it is why I think love overpowers hate in Romeo and
