David Foster Wallace’s short story, “Good People” is a story that embraces a vast variety of literacy, such as, the attention to detail, the purpose, and audience connections. Throughout this story there are such vivid details making the reader have the ability to almost be present in the distinctive moment between Lane and Sherry. “ It was springtime, and the park’s grass was very green and the air suffused with honeysuckle and lilacs both, which was almost too much.” This detail and imagery allows for the audience to experience and almost smell the overwhelming scent.
