His journey to the forest was itself a sinful act, but he decided to walk along with the devil’s staff on his way to the ceremony. When he had recognized the voice of the minister and the and Deacon Gookin he immediately hide into the dark forest knowing that he was engage in a sinful act. Instead of repenting the sin he had committed, he even decided to attend the witch trial and felt surprised when had seen some of the honored people dwelling in his village who have attended the ceremony, yet he didn’t see himself who was one of the faithful puritan who had left his wife in a lonely place and travelled all way in a dark forest in mid of the night only to attend such sinful gathering as this indicate how he had betrayed his wife and his religion. Moreover, people should show a loyal to their partners and have faith with them as this may strengthen their relationship but if one deceives his wife and does something illegal to your faith, she might also does the same thing and both of you will finally meet in a worst place which can result breakage of the relationship. People should strictly follow their beliefs accordingly regardless of what others are doing, because everyone is accountable for his bad deeds therefore, if one does what so ever he sees from other people, such a person can be dragged at any place since he does not have strong principle that governs
