The book Schooled is written by Gordon Korman. The main character is capricorn Anderson. It takes place at a school by the name of Claverage school (Or as they call it C-Average). It also takes place at Garland Farms Commune where Cap lives. Caps grandma Rain gets hurt and Cap has to go to school.
Pete Rose: The Fall of a Star Athlete Often referred to by his nickname, “Charlie Hustle,” Pete Rose was one of the greatest players in the history of the Major League Baseball Association. Throughout his professional career, Rose played for the Cincinnati Reds, the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Montreal Expos as a stellar athlete. He also set a batting record that is still unbroken to this day (“Peter Rose Biography”). However, Pete Rose, a modern day tragic hero, fell in disgrace from stardom because of his limitless desire to gamble, resulting in his permanent ineligibility to be placed in one of baseball’s most important monuments, the Hall of Fame. His weakness for gambling led to his downfall and, like most tragic heroes, Rose could not see his own faults until it was too late.
In the novel, “Swindle”, the main character, Griffin Bing, had the idea that it was unfair for adults to push them around because of their age. One night, to prove that to the adults of Cedarville, Griffin and Ben Slovak invited some of his friends’ to come and stay the night at the old Rockford house that was being demolished the next morning. Griffin walked around the house and had stumbled upon a very rare baseball card of Babe Ruth in a Red Sox uniform in his first season playing baseball when Babe Ruth has always been a Yankee player. Griffin kept the card thinking of the money he could make if he sold it. The next morning Griffin and Ben went to the collectibles’ store owned by S. Wendell Palomino to sell the card.
Jack Dunn had given Ruth five dollars for that month until he was paid and he was concerned over what he was going to eat, however, a teammate told him that meals were all paid for by the team. All the meals were free so Ruth developed wrong eating habits that his teammates were amazed at how much he could eat, while Ruth justified it by saying that “a guy’s got to be strong to play ball.” In another instance, Ruth acting like a child, would bribe the elevator operator just to allow him to go up and down over again. George was so good at baseball that one of the monks invited Jack Dunn, owner of the minor league team the Baltimore Orioles who groomed players for the major league Red Sox, to come and watch him play. Jack was impressed and offered George his first professional baseball contract on February 14, 1914 at the age of nineteen as a pitcher. He got the nickname Babe because he was Jack Dunn’s newest babe. This nickname stuck with him for the rest of his career. He was soon moved up to the majors and played five years with the Red Sox where he won 89 games in 6 years.

Pete Rose is one of the greatest baseball players to ever set foot on the diamond. Sadly, he will never be in the Hall of Fame because of his foolish mistake in gambling with his love for the game. Growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio as a child and being nicknamed ¨Charlie Hustle¨, must of made him feel the need to actually hustle people, even though the name had a completely different meaning.
Babe Ruth “The Great Bambino” makes Yankee owners and fans proud. With Babe’s hot streak right now he’ll make any baseball fan proud. Words cannot explain the talent and ambition this man possesses. Currently being the best hitting pitcher and outfielder baseball has to offer. With 164 runs batted in this past season with the New York Yankees any team will pay any price to have Babe’s name on one of their jerseys.
The name stuck with him and from that point forward he was called Babe instead of George (Ruth’s). While playing with the Ravens he performed very well leading to him being sold to the Major League team the Boston RedSoxs. Even though Babe is known for his hitting back in the Majors, he started out as a pitcher. Babe won his major league debut in July of 1914. The only issue was that the Red Sox’s roster was full, so Ruth was moved to their Minor league team the Providence Grays.
Babe loved playing with the teams he played with. He play with three different teams. The teams he played with were the Atlanta Braves, The Red Soxs, and the Yankees. He got better at baseball the more he got older. The more and more he watched baseball, the more he loved baseball.

This film is biographical sports film about an African American named Jackie Robinson who gets the chance of a lifetime to play professional baseball. In the film Branch Rickey, President and GM of the Brooklyn Dodgers, wants to have an African American play professional baseball. In the film, Jackie must face many challenges like racial integration and starting out playing for Montreal. After his great season with Montreal he is moved up to play with the Brooklyn Dodgers.

As a child, nobody ever thought that George Herman Ruth would amount to anything in his life. Born on February 6, 1895, Ruth was quite the troublemaker. His parents eventually sent him to St. Mary’s Industrial School to straighten him up (Barra).

Causing stress and discomfort to individuals in order to gain knowledge is at times necessary. For example, Stanley Milgram’s experiments which focus on obedience to authority and the extent a person is willing to ignore their own ethical beliefs and cause pain to another individual, just because he is ordered to do so. Stanley Milgram writes about his experiments and results in his article “The Perils of Obedience”. In his experiments Stanley Milgram causes subjects who have volunteered to be a part of them some stress and discomfort in order to receive relevant results.

The boys on his team started calling him “the Babe” and soon it stuck. Babe Ruth was a well know man in his day and also in the world today. Babe was an outstanding pitcher as well as a great athlete in the outfield.
