One gothic element for the novel “Frankenstein” is the supernatural. Supernatural gothic element focuses on monsters, Ghosts, curses etc. As you begin reading the novel written by Mary Shelley you cannot tell the story is about a monster being created but your introduced to victor Frankenstein he wants to study sciences. Later on in the story you see how victor grows and obsession for science and he wants to create something nobody has ever created. Victor creates a monster he gathers old human features from graves of people who have passed away to create this monster. Victor Frankenstein despised what he had created and this leads to what I consider his curse. The monster becomes filled with hate towards his creator and begins to kill important people in Victor's life. In order for the monster to stop he demands victor to create a companion for the monster the cause of victor not doing as told is the murder of his wife. Frankenstein lives the rest of his life determined to kill the monster. The novel Frankenstein is told exactly like a horror story. …show more content…

A gothic element for this would also be supernatural, this is because although nobody ever knew what was beyond the yellow paper the lady whom we do not know the name of believes to see a person creeping behind bars almost as if she was to be trapped. The setting of this novel is also being taken place in a big house where it seems to be haunted as said by the lady in the novel. She believes that because it is so cheap and nobody lives in it, it must be haunted. So could it be a ghost in the
