Imagine this. In the book, Fahrenheit 451, the community was involved with getting brainwashed by the government. They did this by providing TV families for every family in their society. Also, they took away books from their people, which was their main source of knowledge. The government did these actions so their citizen’s would not think about the world, or simply question it. The government didn’t want their people to know what was happening in the world. This all took place throughout the lifetime of the people, and right there in their homes. For example, in the book, Legend, the government gave the poor people the plague because they wanted to save natural resources and protect their environment. They showed the people that they cared about their citizens by going around town and doing check ups. However, they were actually giving the plague instead of preventing it. This example shows that the government control is bad because they show they don’t care about their citizens. All because the government wanted to save and protect their natural resources, they were killing innocent people. In today’s government, the society is trying to save materials. This is a big deal because the government is hurting and preventing a larger population, in which they can make jobs in which people create more and help out with the resources. Another example is when Day’s younger brother was diagnosed with the plague. He was sick, and was continuously in bed, coughing, sneezing, and barely eating. He was getting thinner every day. Day knew about this, and was trying to save his little brother, until he figured out what the government was actually doing. In today’s world, people are getting sick with different types of cancer and more. People are getting more hurt, and sick each and every day. This shows that the government can not show an act of kindness. They can just show cruelty. All in all, government control
