“No, just watch,” remarked Amelia. Both girls watched as the man took a vase out of his big black bag and closed the door. And the girls soon noticed they weren’t the only ones watching. A policeman was too. “What do you think you’re doing?” called the officer to the man. “Um. . . I was just. . .”nervously announced the man. “Wait a second, are you the thief that stole the vase at the local vase shop” said the officer angrily. “Yes I am, and, I’m very proud of it too, well actually . . . um . . . no, I’m not,” replied the man. The girls could tell that he was a terrible liar. “You girls did a big favor for us. We have been after him down for six months!” said the officer happily. The girls smiled and looked up admiringly at the officer. All of the sudden, Louisa jumped out from behind the girls, pointing a fork at the criminal. “It’s already settled, Louisa,” said the officer smiling. “Oh, sorry,” replied Louisa. “Now you are coming with me!” said the officer while putting handcuffs over the criminal’s wrists. Everyone was watching as the officer headed towards the door. “Hold on!” called Marie, while running towards the officer with the criminal’s bag. “Don’t you want to check the bag for evidence?” asked Marie. “Yeah,” said Amelia slowly.
