Us as humans may believe we work hard, thrive, have dedication, improve their daily life, achieve happiness, wealth, and have “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” This is known as the “American Dream.” In F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, Gatsby wants his life to be extraordinary and wants the best for who he loves. This definition relates to me because I want to be able to live my life to the best of my ability. I am confident that I will be successful because my parents have helped me to be extraordinary.They have let me fail, but they also have let me succeed ad learn from my mistakes. This relates to the American Dream since Gatsby is following the girl he has loved.
