Ever since his birth, Brutus was targeted by the gods. They branded him a demon and everyone knew who he was. Brutus was born during a thunder storm inside of a cave after his father broke his oath to the gods. The gods had punished his family and all who were friendly to them. This quickly caught on and his parents were cast out of their village. Greece was not a nice place, plagued by monsters and thieves and murderers. Brutus fit right in. He was brought up to hate the very people who put him in his life of poverty. Everyone. Brutus trusted no one, as he should have. Most gods were searching for him, but the darkness allowed Brutus to remain undetected. The only light that existed was that of fire and lightning. Zeus provided the lightning and remained aloft at the peak of Mount Olympus, far away from Brutus. When Artemis emerged to go on her hunt, Brutus took to the trees to monitor her moves from the air. After watching the skilled archer take down a dozen doe, he decided to make his move. Perched on the tree above the maiden, he revealed his blade and leapt to make the kill. A stray bolt of lightning struck near Artemis as she dove for safety, avoid Brutus’ attack as well as making his presence known. Within a blink of an eye an arrow was already shot and lodged in Brutus’ shoulder. Artemis was letting loose volleys of arrows at Brutus who was trying to get close enough to make the kill. The flames immediately caught Artemis as she screamed in pain. She fell to the ground, covered in welts and burns. Her agony was unbearable as even Brutus winced at her screams. He walked up to her, removed her bow as well as her quiver and put his blade thought her heart. Her screams died and the animals around her turned to ash and were swept away by the breeze. Ares was furious, he had taken solace inside the Spartan coliseum where he demanded sacrifices to gain strength. He began massacring all people who came to give him sacrifices. Brutus saw a chance to end Ares and gain favor of the people. On Ares was a belt which granted its wearer respect among all near him. This belt would ensure Brutus’ ability to finally walk amongst the public without fear of rejection and hate. Or he could destroy it and watch the people cower in fear of him. Brutus wanted an easy kill, so he hid his face under his hood and disguised himself as one of the men giving Ares sacrifices. Ares’ fury blinded himself to the point where he did not recognize who the white-robed man was until a pressurized gold and platinum sword tore through his abdomen and up towards his heart. The god fell with a thud and melted into knife of pure ichor. The entire coliseum began shaking and plummeted, with Brutus still
