In this story I (Grendel) am going to tell you how I an ogre died because of misjudgment. They judged me without knowing me and turned me into a monster someone I never thought I would be.
It was a warm sunny day in the swamps I took off to wonder like any other day. I would play in the forest and sometimes I would also get hurt while playing. Other times I would get lost and get really scared but, mama would always come and find me. Sometimes I would get close to them but, then it would get dark and I would go back to the swamp. One day when I was older I walking far from the swamp when I saw “them” the humans. They had weird voices it was almost like they spoke a foreign language. When I actually heard them good I found out it was the same language I spoke just in a different way.

They were sitting around some fire when they saw me they were frightened. They quickly grabbed their torches and were pointing them at me. I was telling them to calm down but, all they would hear were loud moans it was like they could not understand me. Then the king (Hrothgar) told his men “kill him”, all of a sudden my mother came out of nowhere. She (my mother) started to fight with them and eventually scared them. After that this hatred grew in me against men because they had judged without knowing me. I decided I was going to become the monster they thought I
