This is a great question that I will answer. How does place shape the individual? Well, I believe that place can have a huge impact on people and how they later grow up. I’ve heard that in the place where you grow up you can make very strong connections and relationships with that place and it becomes a part of your identity. I believe that it’s true because I love my home and I’ve lived there my whole life and have grown to love all my neighbors in my community and I feel like my home has had a huge impact on my future and the way I grew up.

The stories are all similar life-threatening situations as well as outstanding differences. One of the many similarities in these stories is that General Zaroff and The Sniper. They are both attempting to kill someone.
Native Americans were the first to live on the land now known as Calumet City, Illinois. They immigrated from Asia in search of warmer weather and set up homes throughout the region. Some of today 's residents collect arrowheads that remain from those early days. Settlers arrived in Calumet City to farm the land in the last decade of the 19th century. Most were Germans and Poles who eventually established industrial businesses to boost the economy.
Personally, I fall into the country crowd that would rather be out riding around on back roads than be up in the middle of the hectic traffic of city life. This causes me to clash with many of the folks that I went to school with. They can be found going to concerts, sports games, and other events in the city. On the other hand, I can be found running around rural country roads hitting fishing holes and living life slow and easy, at least for me. Others might view the ways that I prefer to pass the time as boring or a waste of time, and I might view their pass times as crazy or a hassle.

The community I grew up in central Texas celebrated my heritage, honored differences in culture, and fostered personal growth and self-discovery. My parents, with the strong work ethic they developed on their family’s farms in Ghana, encouraged my brother and me to work hard and find ways to use our skills to be of service to others, which wasn’t hard to do growing up in Austin with its many avenues to become involved and take care of the community, whether it was helping to direct families through the Trail of Lights at Zilker Park during the winter or raise money for educational programs for underprivileged kids in the area through working the concession stands at the University of Texas at Austin. Growing up in southwest Atlanta, Georgia, I have been surrounded by ‘black success’ instead of just ‘success’ for the duration of my life. The blacks in my area are equally as successful, if not more accomplished than, the non-blacks, but we are always titled separately and put into a captive box. The box we are held in told young girls that they should aspire to be athletes, cosmetologists, or plain unemployed. The same box told young men that they could only be considered “somebody” if they were able to catch a ball well. These are occupations we would ‘best be suited for’; these are occupations that perpetuate the box.
One night, during the cold winter, I walked along the side walk to reach the local store down the block. As I walked out, before I can realize it, I was dropping down onto the concrete while bullets swiftly passed me. I then began to run back home, but I wanted to keep running. Away from Chicago, away from the west side. Growing up in Chicago, it was easy to assume that there was nothing different beyond the blocks of my streets.

From the music that people listen to, to television shows, movies, dances and various other things, the black culture is entertaining for all. In a small town if an individual does something bad, everyone knows about it. Compared to a city gossip and rumors get around a lot more slowly than they do in a small town. In a small town, everybody knows everybody. Not only is gossip a problem in a small town but so is crime. Also, compared to a city, most small town people are low or minimum wage workers, such as factory workers or someone who works in a convenient store.
Why do some people move away from their hometown and some never leave? The answer to that is they probably want to move out of the cold, move to another state for college, they want to live in a state that has four seasons, for different job purposes, or even to live closer to their family members. Moving away is a whole different reality, depending on if you 're moving away from your family, to college, or even to start a life on your own! When moving away it 's a whole new journey. From not having to do very much living with your parents, fending for yourself 24/7, buying food, and making sure you get up on time.
A city is a good place to continue the further education and to find a suitable job. A city can provide government facilities to its people which makes easy to sustain the life and to perform the task. In addition, the city may be regarded as a relatively permanent concentration of population, together with its diverse habitations, social arrangements, and supporting activities. Cities might differ in cultural aspects and from other types of human settlement and association. Today I am comparing and contrasting my hometown, Kathmandu and the city I am living in, Colorado.
The differences of rural and urban areas are their facilities, education, living costs, but the similarities between village and city are in their language, religion, laws, and government. One obvious difference is the facilities. City life has more facilities and opportunities to progress life. People in urban areas are integrated with technology that makes their lives much easier.
