A grudge is to have a bitter feeling against someone that you cannot let go of. The Montagues and Capulets held a grudge. They come from a story called "Romeo and Juliet." made by William Shakespeare.The families lived in hatred for years, and led their heirs into the flow of hatred too. If there was no hatred then Juliet and Romeo wouldn't have had to hide their love for each other. Furthermore, the hate caused many deaths which is why Juliet and Romeo loved each other in secret. "From ancient grudge break to new mutiny, Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean"(The prologue. 1. 3-4) Based on the evidence, it shows that the grudge the families held did indeed cause bloodshed. Ordinary people have stained their hands with blood because of a grudge. Throughout the book, multiple people have died since the family feud. If you read the story, you would know that if Romeo just kept his anger controlled he wouldn't have died.
