Upon reaching the end of the 3rd quarter of my senior year, I have recognized my strengths to be my adept ability to pay attention in the classroom, working well in groups and producing work to the best of my ability. Paying attention in a classroom environment is necessary to understand the assignment at hand, working well in groups as community contributors will help in future situations and I have always found it to be essential to produce work of great quality because it represents the pride I have in my work. However, my areas of improvement include staying on top of assignments because my last high school tennis team season has started and I will have to work harder to make sure I get my assignments done on time. Personally, I am interested in learning more about topics like this one. Gun control and violence is something catching a lot of attention in American today and I wanted to know more about it, from different perspectives. I did not have a lot of background knowledge on the topic and wanted to learn more than what is superficially presented to the public. I enjoyed how we read different arguments and worked toward a deeper understanding of the effects of gun violence on America. From this unit I have better-developed skills in annotating articles, summarizing documents, and learning new vocabulary.

Next quarter, I would like to cover another topic like gun control/violence. I think it is important to learn more about controversial topics and current events that are affecting us. Also, understanding different arguments and positions people have on certain topics and learning about why they think they way they do. Some topics include global warming, America 's educational system, or minimum wage. These topics either have been affecting us or will be affecting us in the
