On December 10th, 2015, Phoebe Maltz Bovy published her article, “It’s Time to Ban Guns. Yes, All of Them.” , on the progressive New Republic website. This article was published eight days after the San Bernardino attack of December 2nd, 2015. This article explores why the United States of America should ban every gun in the country.
With all the recent gun related crimes and tragedies’ that has happened recently, there are strong calls for government to act for stricter gun control laws. Mr. Alan Berlow wrote an Op-ed essay that was published in the New York Times titled “Gun Control That Actually Works”. Berlow makes the argument that there are control measures in place that works for gun control. In 1934 a measure was enacted into law to control the procurement of weapons which is known as the NFA (National Firearms Act). The NFA outlines the standard for procurement of military grade firearms and any weapon, attachment, or modification that will allow a single person to inflict a large amount of fatalities with in a single attack.
China, a country of 1.4 Billion people, only spends about 132 billion dollars on its military. Obviously China is a major threat to America right? Well, not quite, America spends 600 billion dollars a year on defense, which is nearly 4 times as much. Education, Sciences, housing and other important parts of the budget are neglected.
Over the course of history humans always been in war and somehow found a way to kill one another. Weapons have become more and more deadly to the point where we have weapons that can kill less than a second. These weapons are called guns and they have been one of the most controversial subjects in history. Many people think their should be a ban on guns and their are those that think otherwise. Molly Ivins, the woman who wrote “Get a Knife, Get a Dog, but Get Rid of Guns” supports knifes over guns and says that guns only kill but, her essay is put together poorly because of constant use of verbal fallacies such as hasty generalization, oversimplification, and even either-or fallacy.
Currently, as we can see gun control is the controversial issues for many people; especially in America. Due to the mass shootings, people have different opinions about why or why not gun is a useful tool or detrimental. According to Diane Dimond’s essay “Kids and Guns and Public Safety”; he presents about the gun owner needed more personal responsible with conscience of how they using it rather than gun control. Moreover, he believes that it is not all about what parents want their child to do so, when the things happened. Then, he tries to say that this is everyone responsible for him/herself

In modern society, guns are seen as a form of control. Those who have guns are able to overpower those who do not. This trend was set when guns were first invented and has stayed the same throughout history. The one place where guns are not a symbol of power and control is in literature, specifically “The Old Gun” and Hamilton. In Mo Yan’s short story “The Old Gun”, the protagonist is a hungry boy who does not even know how to use the titular firearm.
In 1939, Germany established gun control. From 1939 to 1945, six million Jews and seven million others unable to defend themselves had their lives taken away. [1] Could this outcome have changed if the Jews were armed with guns? Could thirteen million innocent lives have been saved? Does taking away firearms help someone in a situation like this?

When it comes to gun control, I side with Donald Trump instead of Hillary Clinton. I agree with Trump because I do not like having my rights being taken away. Gun Violence At a recent high school football game, a line of excited fans were waiting to purchase tickets when, all of a sudden, loud bursts exploded in the sky. Frantic parents and children scattered in all directions only to realize fireworks were being displayed to celebrate "Senior Night" at Nettleton High School. The sad fact is that daily, the news is filled with stories about mass shootings in schools, theaters, malls, and other places. Innocent lives are being taken by gun violence and nobody seems to have answers.
Gun Control in the United States December fourteen, two thousand and twelve, twenty-year old Adam Lanza was blamed for the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. After Lanza killed his mother, Nancy, he drove to Sandy Hook Elementary. Using an AR-15 assault rifle gun, he killed twenty, first grade children and six adults within five minutes. Shortly after taking the lives of the students and faculty, Adam Lanza committed suicide (CBS News.)
Gun Control in the United States Gun control in the United States has become a highly contested topic recently due to the mass shootings that have occurred. The Federal Bureau of Investigation defines mass murder as a murder in which four or more people are killed in one incident (Morton). Over the past decade the topic of gun control has been prevalent in new legislation because mass shootings seem more frequent. Statistics reveal that although mass shootings have not become more frequent over the years, they have become deadlier with higher death tolls than ever before. The firearms and ammunition that civilians are able to obtain since the expiration of the Assault Weapons Ban in 2004 have led to the increase in the death toll (Duwe).
Gun control problems Nowadays, we can hear the crimes related to guns from time to time, and each of them is scarified and influential. For example, the accident happened in Sandy Hook Elementary School leads to 20 deaths for primacy school students and 6 deaths for staffs. It is hard to imagine what degree of sadness in their family may suffer. In this way, many people think the government should have stronger gun control regulations.

For many years, America has been regarded as one of the world’s most perilous and ferocious countries in the world. The death rate caused by active gun shooters in the US is extraordinary: “since 1968, more Americans have died from gunfire than died in … all the wars of this country 's history”. Hence why public ownership of guns should be abolished in the USA. Can you imagine to what extent the death rate in America has increased by now?
