Haile Selassie I, born Tafari Makonnen Woldemikael, was a former Ethiopian Emperor. Haile always strived for greatness in Ethiopia. He wanted to make his country more powerful and strong. Selassie was considered a hero by a majority because he sought out to develop the country. Many people said their education was at its best during his reign because he built the first university in his country to introduce modernizing skills and ideas. Haile had great ideas in ways to advance Ethiopia. He has not explained how he would create peace, just to trust, and have faith in him. In some of his speeches, Haile explains how he desires to have his country at peace. Selassie stated, “Peace is a day-to-day problem, the product of a multitude of events and judgments. Peace is not an ‘is,’ it is a ‘becoming’” (BrainyQuote). The quote shows that peace may not be here, but it is on its way, and Haile Selassie is the one who will lead it to the country.
