The Haitian revolution was one of the largest and most successful slave rebellion in the Western hemisphere. In the Haitian revolution the slaves of Haiti rebelled for freedom. The slaves in Haiti overthrew the government, which are similar to events that took place in animals farm. After the slaves took over, the French attacked them to try to get the land back, but failed and the Haitian slaves kept the land. The people were now more equal and slavery was no longer a thing in the country of Haiti. Even though the haitian people were now free, they still lived in harsh conditions. Haiti has been referred to as “poorest country in the Western Hemisphere”(www.ruralpovertyportal.org) , Haiti is still even poor up to this date. The government that the leaders instilled during the revolution last for long time in fact the same government is being used in Haiti today. The government that the Haitians use is very identical to the government that we use right here in the U.S. The government allows the haitian people to be free and to have rights, which is what allows the government to not fail and become a corrupt government. The government allowed the people to be free and have rights but the country is now one of the most poorest countries in the world. The country is still rebuilding from a earthquake that happened in 2010. But it is coming along well. Both the animals that were in the novel and the slaves that were in the Haitian revolution were oppressed and were lead by a cruel leader that treated them in horrible fashion. Mr. Jones, the farmer in animal farm, and Napoleon, the leader of French, were very similar. They both were cruel, harsh, and oppressive to the people/animals that they lead. In both the Haitian revolution and Animal Farm the animals/people who chose to rebel against their leaders are sentenced to death.
