With the racial discrimination that Robinson experienced in mind, I am brought to our country's current state of civil rights. From the airport and Mall of America protests in Minneapolis to the student protests at the University of Missouri our state of civil rights are in turmoil.

The modification of human traits poses a depreciation in the value of giftedness. One author, Micahel Sandel, supports the value of giftedness in his essay, The Case Against Perfection.
On the 30th anniversary of robotic exploration of Mars, NASA selected the name "Sojourner" for the first rover slated to explore the Red Planet, naming it after Sojourner Truth (“NASA Names,”1997).
