Hannibal was one of Carthage’s strongest general. Hannibal was a great leader and General that served Carthage. Hannibal used his knowledge and loyalty to Carthage and helped it thrive. Hannibal was helpful to Carthage because he had a very strong army, he was a great leader, and helped defeat Rome in the 2nd punic war.
Hannibal had one of the strongest armies of the time. An article was done by History.com the text says “Hannibal assembled a massive army, including (according to Polybius’ probably exaggerated figures) as many as 90,000 infantry, 12,000 cavalry, and nearly 40 elephants.” This depicts how Hannibal had a very strong large army. He slept among his soldiers and would not wear anything that marked him as a leader or made him different from his soldiers. He led the armies into battle from the front and was the last to leave the battlefield.” This depicts Hannibal's great leadership skills. During his time as a general, he treated his soldiers as equals showing great leadership. Hannibal showed his leadership skills when showing his men he was no better than them making them equals.
