a. My career vision is to become one of the best neurosurgeons in the United States. I plan to attend medical school in the near future, however, Chemistry has always been an interest of mine. Chemistry class in high school sparked an interest that goes beyond curiosity for the subject. I find Chemistry to be challenging, but at the same time encouraging to study and understand. Everything that affects me: the water I drink, the food I eat, the blood flowing through my veins, is a result of the Chemistry of the human body. That Chemistry is what keeps me alive, and I enjoy understanding it! We will never reach a point when we have to stop. We might get stuck and have to reassess the data and the facts, but there is always something else we can do to re-test our data or propose a new hypothesis that will result in even more experimentation. I believe that understanding Chemistry, specifically, that Chemistry which happens in the human body would make me a better doctor and a better surgeon. Understanding how a medication affect the body is more important that simply knowing its side effects. Understanding how the human body works and the effects of medications and the environment will allow me to provide better care and better treatment for my patients. Like anyone else who enjoys science, there is always a desire to connect the material that we learned with the big picture. For me, that big picture is becoming a doctor and learning Chemistry will be another tool that I can use to fulfill my vision. My life long dream has been to become a doctor and combining it with my interest in Chemistry, I believe I can fulfill my career vision.
