Clinical trials are invaluable in ensuring efficacy as well as safety in modern medicine. They allow physicians to understand all of the implications of the treatment they provide for their patients. Well conducted clinical trials have the power of determining procedural efficacy and revealing unforeseen side effects that may threaten a patient’s wellbeing. Furthermore, performing clinical research on a drug may reveal a hidden application that can be used to the benefit of several patients. Ultimately, clinical research is essential in ensuring that physicians are treating patients using drugs and procedures that are both safe and effective.

I’m a special type of nerd. As I go about my day, I constantly brainstorm questions and consider methods for answering these questions. Along with seeing beauty in the abstract and creative, I find undeniable beauty in logic and objectivity. Nothing excites me more than challenges requiring me to integrate my knowledge to answer questions. In addition, I have always been fascinated by biochemistry and its implications in modern medicine. These passions have drawn me towards clinical research. I am excited by the opportunity to not only engage in what fascinates me, but to do so in a setting that has the potential to impact several lives. My ultimate career goal is to earn an M.D. Ph.D. and assist patients in both clinical and research
