Imagine this, you have been bitten by a tick almost 6 years ago. You have not had any problems and you did not even know it until this one day. You feel sick, heart problems start to show and one side of your face is suddenly paralysed. You have no idea what to do or what it is. So you decide to go to the doctor. He immediately knows, you have Lyme disease. He also states that you have had it for a long time and prescribes you antibiotics.
After a couple of weeks, nothing has changed. There are still symptoms and pain. The only possible answer is: You do not respond to the antibiotics. There is no other medicine. Antibiotics were the only thing that could have cured you. Now there is no way you can be cured.
If a new medicine is found, people will have a greater chance of surviving. But in order to find a new medicine, research has to be done.
