Growing up in small town makes me who I am today. I was raised in the small town of Chowchilla and this made me part of the community. I have lived in Chowchilla my whole life, but my parents emigrated from Mexico. It was very difficult for my parents to get used to living in America, but managed to become US citizens. Being the middle child out of three makes me a role model for my little sister. My sister will eventually follow my footsteps and pursue her dreams just like I will soon. Being from a small town has its benefits because you practically know everyone and everything about the town. My teachers have inspired me to become a teacher because they basically showed me how to survive in the real world. Many teachers have formed a bond with me and triggered me to want to learn more about the world. Knowing that my teachers have helped me, I want to teach and have a sense of pride, knowing that I can educate a future generation makes me a motivated person. Living in a small town gives children the opportunity to thrive and connect with the community of Chowchilla. The elementary school classroom is a metaphor for such a small town of Chowchilla. The teachers that I have had have inspired me to become exactly like them. .
