My desire in life is to become an elementary teacher. I hope to one day be able to construct a major change in lives of young individuals and allow them the opportunity to grow and develop right before my eyes. I want to be the reason why children still believe learning is fun and decide that they want to further excel in life. Being an elementary teacher would allow me to inspire children to be the best they can be.
Most of the classes I take in Duncanville High School are Advanced Placement classes. However, I do take some Dual Credit classes along with three regular academic classes. Nevertheless, two out of those three regular academic classes are internship classes. These internship classes are for young alumni who inspire to become teachers. The internship classes, otherwise known as Instructional Practices in Education and Training or even as Practicum in Education in Training, which is only for advanced seniors, allow students to prepare lesson plans, resumes, portfolios, go out to a field site and actually work with real students as an intern. Being a senior next year I will have participated in both of these classes and therefore I will be well experienced in teaching young children. I absolutely love to undergo difficult tasks as they allow me to grow as a person. Additionally, while attending UT I want to engage in internship classes that would allow me to get even more real life experience in being a teacher.
