I am pleased to be writing this letter as a means of introducing myself to Seneca Academy. In May of 2018, I will be earning my Masters of Arts in STEM Education. Throughout my experience as an educator, I have always provided an inquiry-based, constructivist approach to learning. I thoroughly enjoy helping students learn how to grow into avid learners through the use of project-based learning and inquiry-based learning experiences. It is important that each lesson is diversified so that all students can learn in a classroom environment that is the most efficient for them. For example, when instructing my class at Little People’s Edu-care, my students move seamlessly from mini-lessons and learning stations and had ample resources that helped deepen their knowledge. On a typical today, I introduced a particular topic by offering a mini-lesson or workstations that supported student’s learning and understanding. I also introduced students to a variety of resources such as, videos, online interactive games, PowToons, virtual labs, and much more, which deepen their understanding and caught their interest. Rather than just delivering facts, I provide proper tools, resources, and technology that encourages my students to be active learners rather than passive learners.
My teaching style reflects more meaningful tactics rather than just imparting information to my students. For instincts, as an online 5th grade instructor at Connections Academy, I enjoy using numerous instructional strategies to help my students develop their learning content and learning experience.
