My passion for the world of science stemmed from when I read my very first scientific encyclopedia in my father’s study room. From how the body works and reacts to natural and artificial agents in the environment to the chemicals and different reactions can be made pushed me further into learning more about the scientific world. I began asking questions from my teachers and would even catch myself reading and memorizing the periodic table in my leisure time. There were some of the key components that ignited my passion to pursue a career in pharmacy. Ever since the creation of certain drugs like penicillin and other antibiotics, the pharmaceutical world has become fast growing industry where brilliant individuals come in to make medications and help patients worldwide to treat and cure most diseases. Being a child of Ghanaian parents, I have had the pleasure to study in that great country and interact with different people from different walks of life. With my father being a pharmacist, I have always tagged along with him to his pharmacy and get to interact with the pharmacy technicians who sometimes show me how to dispense medicine to the patients and ring them up. In my chemistry classes especially, I enjoyed every experiment we got to conduct and I would even watch more videos to learn how certain chemicals react with the human body. After school, I would stay behind to get tutored by my science professors just to get more knowledge about the field and I would also ask my professors the key things I would need to accomplish in order to be a pharmacist. I was able to achieve honor roll every semester and did a lot of volunteering in food shelters and track and field
