There are a lot of morals and values that I grew up learning and living, one being to help others when they are in need. That being said; my role as a youth leader at my youth group can show the compassionate and caring side of me. I enjoy giving out my free time to educate and help others grow in different ways as they grow to become a better and well-rounded person. Currently, I am a chemistry major at my university and have/am taking courses that pertain to pharmacy that would help promote better understanding and resources. With an interest in the educational background of the pharmacy world, obtaining a Doctor of Pharmacy degree would help further that goal. The knowledge that pharmacist carry is also spectacular, in that I hope after getting a Doctor of Pharmacy degree I could pursue the same path and be able to help others with what I know. The pharmacy career is not just about mixing and counting medication as some people see it as. Those who work in the area of pharmacy are hands-on learning and interacting with patients about their health and building a better health. There are also the behind the counter works, of research and environmental ways that can lead to the same path. The short term goal that I would like to achieve is to become a pharmacist in a local retail and/or a hospital setting. By doing that I am able to interact and personally help others educate themselves and live a better lifestyle. With a degree, I hope to in the future for long term goals to work more in pharmaceutical side or specialize in oncology. An interest for pharmaceutical would be to work on making new compounds and medications that limit the amount of side effects, with the amount of research that can be put in.
