My passion for science and my aspiration to improve the quality of people's lives has encouraged me into the path of a science based career. I have always been intrigued in the diverse world of medicine and pharmaceuticals which is why I am so drawn to pharmacy.
In school, I am part of the Young Enterprise team which involves setting up and running our own company. This has not only taught me to embrace and enjoy overcoming challenges but has also enhanced my leadership and entrepreneurial skills as well as giving me the confidence to present my work to a large number of people.

Furthermore, being a 'friend in S6' at my school gave me the opportunity to provide additional support to senior school pupils who were struggling with class work. This involved answering any unexpected questions that pupils had which I believe has remarkably helped develop my interpersonal skills. Through this I have found that my confidence was greatly improved. This also gave me the chance to set a good example for younger pupils as well as strengthening my ability to work with people of a variety of different age groups.
Beyond the classroom, I have also taken part in a practical chemistry masterclass where I gained the experience of doing practical work in a lab alongside professional chemists. This furthered my understanding of analytical techniques and enhanced my ability to do practical work - which I thoroughly enjoyed.
My work experience at Lloyds pharmacy was what really made my desire to enter the field of pharmacy grow. It gave me an insight into how a pharmacy is run on a daily basis and taught me the importance of working as part of a team.
