The intent of this letter is to be considered a candidate for the Entry-level Masters in Nursing program at Azusa Pacific University. I wish to be part of this program because I am certain that Azusa Pacific University is compatible with me as we share the same fundamental values and educational goals. Earning a Bachelor’s degree in Science was a significant milestone as I am a first-generation college student, low-income, Latina. My educational career confirmed my passion towards science, healthcare and being a lifetime learner. This major equipped me with the knowledge and fundamental skills that are crucial to excel in the medical field. It thought me to be responsible, dedicated, and committed. While being a full-time student, I also worked part time about 20-35 hours a week, at Garcia Dental Center as a dental assistant. I originally sought to pursue a career in the dental field. To gain experience in the field, I became a certified dental assistant and earned a dental x-ray license from the Regional Occupation Center during my senior year in High School. The American Heart Association also certified me for the cardiopulmonary resuscitation in the year 2010. These certifications provided me with the basic knowledge and fundamental skills required for a health care professional in the dental field. The clinic served a culturally diverse population of patients and moved at a high pace. This job taught me to quickly adapt and work in a demanding environment.
