I am a well versed and people-oriented person, both high qualities that make the fundamental foundation of a pharmacist. As an aspiring pharmacist, I have excellent communication skills, a passion for making people `first' and the ability to be responsible for my actions. My motivation in the profession is embedded in my desire to improve other people's health, be knowledgeable in various disciplines pertaining to health care.
My first inclination to becoming a pharmacist is due to concern for other persons. A significant part of my life has been helping other people and contributing to their well being. Pharmacists instill a sense of reassurance and trust to patients by taking care of them. Whenever I visit a pharmacy for consultation about certain medication, I always leave feeling I was taken care and helped in a meaningful way.
When I joined high school, my love for chemistry and biology made me the best student in my class. Learning about body systems and functions was particularly of interest to me as a biology student. One thing I have learned about pharmacy is that; it is not just about dispensing medication. It takes both the heart and mind to aid those in need and requires a genuine respect for life. It requires hard work, high integrity, and unshaken morals to excel in the profession. I chose pharmacy as a career so I can improve the access to medicine to people in remote areas who need it most, but have no access to hospital facilities.
