As a professional student of Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University, I am working toward achieving my dream of becoming a pharmacist. Soon my dream will become a reality. I am currently a pharmacy student in the third year of the professional program. I was given this grateful opportunity in 2012 when I was accepted through the the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF). EOF has helped me fund my education and has given me access to many mentors that help me day in and day out to succeed in accomplishing my goals. The outstanding Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy Scholarship will be an important necessity in funding my education to achieve my ultimate dream of becoming a Pharmacist. This scholarship would be a great aid not only to me but to my family. My parents have overcome many obstacles to give their children the opportunities to follow their desired career path. They came to the United States at a later age where they struggled not only financially living in a different country but also mentally due to a language barrier. My parents did not know how to speak English, which did not allow them to communicate appropriately with others and held them back from various job opportunities.
