I aspire to be balanced throughout my intellectual, physical, and social life. Firstly, I have been involved in a variety of intellectual extracurricular activities. For example, I am a member of the school spelling bee, and “Beyond the Hurt” (anti-bullying). I’ve been tutoring my younger cousins, while being an active student in my own class. These experiences have assisted in shaping who I am today, a balanced student. Extracurricular activities give me an opportunity to take charge of situations and lead teams, thus allowing me to improve my leadership skills. They assist me in becoming a more effective self-regulator by requiring me to set attainable goals. My involvement in a multitude of activities has allowed me develop into a rounded student, and I will carry these skills forward. Being balanced and an efficient time manager makes it possible for me to pursue the occupation which I desire, as I am able to open up to many experiences while still staying on top of my academics. …show more content…

In many aspects, having a physical presence is equivalent to excelling academically. My physical involvements include being on a recreational ice hockey and badminton team, being a swimmer and skater, and playing sports recreationally. I aspire to be active in all aspects of my life. My involvement in these activities has aided me in becoming a stronger communicator, as I am able to communicate with my peers professionally and develop strong bonds. I am the captain of my ice hockey team, this has allowed me to further develop leadership qualities which enhance my character, skills, and academics.
