As a Junior in high school, I have many interests, most of which lie in STEM fields. I am particularly interested in Environmental Science. This interest was first sparked when I was a freshman in high school, taking AP Environmental Science. This class exposed issues that our society covers up, such as global warming and greenhouse emissions, along with the effects of drilling for oil on the surrounding ecosystems. Ever since I learned about these, I have developed a passion for them and I hope that one day I can contribute to the solution of these issues.

After I complete my education, I want to pursue a job that makes an impact on the world, not just another company. Most STEM careers provide people with opportunites to develop new technologies or new solutions to existing problems. That is why I want to go into one of those fields. Knowing that my work will help not only myself and the people around me, but hopefully it will positively affect future generations.

I have always known that in fields of science and math there will usually always be more men than women; however, that only inspires me to be more like the women in these fields and positions of power.
Since I am still in high school, I will have to wait to pursue these career dreams of mine, but I am still able to do what I can to help out the environment. Whether it is joing the environmental club at my school, or picking classes that reflect on my interests, I will hopefully still be able to continue my plans and career goals once I get to
