Although it takes a good amount of free time to volunteer and do academic work there can also be obstacles in the way, community service and academic work have shaped me into who I am today despite the challenges. From all the volunteering I have done these past years I have learned numerous things. It has taught me to be thankful for everything I have because people are truly struggling. When I volunteered for families helping families during the Christmas break I became more grateful for the life I am currently living. When I was interacting with the families picking up their Christmas gifts and people donating the challenges they encountered really inspired me to never give up on my dreams. Seeing someone take the steps to change someone else life to make sure their family has an awesome Christmas is really inspiring because they’re aware of the struggles these families are going through and that they aren’t able to provide for their family on Christmas. In addition, I have also gained special talents when I was dealing with my academic work. I have gained the need to always study for a test because I know in college that is a must if I want to pass. I’m now concerned about others well-being and finding out ways to help someone in need. It has shaped me to remain humble because you never know what someone is going through and that can also be me. In addition, I now see the world in a new perspective just by stepping out of my comfort zone. When I volunteer I no longer see it as just something to do me currently see it as a passion because I love helping people. Seeing a content child or adult motivates me not to stop what I am doing because I have impacted their lives in a positive way.
