I feel drawn to represent a profession that will enable me to advocate for change, serve my community and improve the quality of life and health of its members with compassion, honesty and integrity. Studying to become a pharmacist will be a challenging and rigorous journey, but I am enthusiastically committed to working in an innovative field where I will utilize my knowledge and expertise to serve as a resource to meet the primary health needs of patients in collaboration with other healthcare providers. As a lifelong learner, I look forward to growth opportunities of developing and enhancing my knowledge and skills to contribute to the profession and enrich the lives of others. From this moment, I quickly knew I wanted to work in a field that includes healthcare and education. I am passionate about educating and caring for people and will always go out of my way to try to provide the best medical care alongside a multidisciplinary team. Although the COVID-19 pandemic had an immense impact on opportunities for me to participate in on the job experience, I gained valuable professional guidance and knowledge about the pharmacy profession from three pharmacists in my community through virtual mentoring. Each of the pharmacists provided support to encourage my study of pharmacy and advance my career development. Becoming knowledgeable of the diverse career options in pharmacy will help me to decide the area in which I can utilize my skills and knowledge to make the most impact on patient care. I believe my self-confidence will help me navigate through the everyday challenges associated in the pharmacy world with an "I can" attitude.
