The endgame of Samuel Beckett is well known for reflecting the spirit of time in relation to the reaction of individuals in terms of overwhelming political and social changes of 20th century. The works of this play are the productions of an ironic golden age in which the developing technological and economic supremacy was used as a means of subjugation on man. The characters of the play depict the fact that they are in continuous search for meaning of life in a meaningless universe. The characters are uncertain about their identities and existence and are feeling isolated in this insecure world. Therefore, based on the play of Beckett it is noticed that human life is meaningless for the characters because they are highly dependent on each other for the work. This play of Haruki Murakami struggles with queries over absurdity and meaninglessness of life. Hard-boiled wonderland and the end of the world are two separate stories that are interlinked with each other and are elaborated in different styles. The hard-boiled wonderland makes use of the American hard-boiled detective fiction. The narrator in the story finds himself wedged up in a war between the Calcutecs who works for the quasi-governmental system and the Semiotics, which are the criminals employed for the Factory.
