"The year was 2081 and everybody was finally equal." Everyone may have been equal, but some people may disagree with the ways the government made them equal. Harrison was an example. However, was he really a hero for rebelling? In 'Harrison Bergeron" , Harrison was a danger to society because he makes everyone obey his orders, tried to rebel, and escaped from jail. Harrison Bergeron was not a hero, but a danger to society. Harrison was a danger because he states "I am the Emperor! Everybody must do what I say at once!" (3). This quotation states that Harrison is in charge and do not try to stop him from taking over. Another reason is that Harrison rebels by removing his handicaps. By removing his handicaps, Harrison was making it easier for people in the auditorium fear him. Harrison was even able to escape prison. People may state that the Handicapped-General was the real danger and Harrison was just trying to show she was by going on live television. The H-G shot him because he breaks the law and was acting as a threat. As stated before, Harrison was a danger not a hero to society for making himself Emperor, trying to rebel, and escaping from jail. Even though the H-G shot him she was not the real danger. The H-G was doing her job and killing someone who was acting as a threat and breaking the law. The only danger to the 2081 society was Harrison
