College, the best place for higher education. Needless to say, it is also an opportunity for students to decide where to go, and what to do. Surprisingly, what I had read from the article was a huge difference, with a shocking title asking “Has College become Dangerous for Students?” In the article, the writer describes life in college as a huge mess. The students’ behaviours were monstrous, unethical, and irresponsible. Students are exposed to horrible drug abuse in college. Some of them cheat during exam. Not to mention that most of them are also alcoholic. A whole system of college fraternities was even forced to shut down due to sexual assault reports. Hence, there is a correlation between the number of coursework given and students’ stress level. It is obvious that the direction of the relation is a positive correlation, because the more the coursework to students, the more stressful they are. When their stress level hit to depression, they would have negative thoughts, and to decrease their depression level, they might take psychoactive drugs. Psychoactive drugs are drugs that alter people’s thinking, perception, and even memory. This is why they feel “relax” instead when they are taking psychoactive drugs. This may also explained why sexual assault were reported. After using the drugs, the body is unable to work properly like usual. This is because the drugs cause physical dependence. Physical dependence has two effects, which would be tolerance: increment of the drugs to achieve the same effect; and withdrawal: physical symptoms like pain, crankiness, and high blood pressure. The drugs also cause psychological dependence, a feeling of need in drugs to continue a feeling of emotional or psychological well-being. Another more effective anti-depressant is alcohol. Alcohol is legal and affordable for college students. Students created some drinking games, such as beer pong to have fun which is a clear example of alcohol
