Yali asked a very important question. “Why do you, White Men, have so much cargo, but we New Guineans have little of our own?” A simple response to that would be, these resources are more readily available in that country, then in the other. This causes the “White Men” countries to have more economic wealth, thus creating inequality and an imbalance of wealth and power between both countries. Some societies have more than they need to survive, while others have little to nothing. Commodities that MDCs view as insignificant and have a small-scale impact in their lives are, in fact, very much significant to the LDC. Some countries don't have those animals there. Without those animals, it would be very hard for people to carry and transport particular articles. These beast of burden are able to carry heavy loads easily and relieve some of the burdens on humans while taking less time.They are a tremendously important to the development of a society because they can do a task that humans will typically do.The countries that have those animals are ahead because they can be productive and spend their time focusing on other important things. Working wiser animals like pigs will not further the development of a country because they are unprofitable and trying to use a pig to carry large loads would be ineffective. More productive crops lead to more productive farmers. The usefulness of that plant can make or break a country. Plants like wheat and barley are beneficial because they taste good, you can plant a lot, they last a long time and they are nutritional. Compared to other plants they don't take a long time to process and they are filling. Using time on other things than planting and harvesting crops that have low-calorie count would be ideal but they have no control over where they are geographically placed and what grows in that region. This may not be as important to countries that have animals capable of being eaten but countries that rely on plants are affected very much by
