Chapter 2 addresses problems in the health care field, while concentrating on access, cost, and quality. Famed news anchor Walter Cronkite said, “America’s health care system is neither healthy, caring, nor a system (Linda A. Mooney 26),” speaks to the lack of sufficiency with health care in America. This paper will briefly summarize the chapter.
Regarding health, the World Health Organization defines it as “a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being (Linda A. Mooney 27).” The authors also pointed out that social problems affect the physical, mental, and social well-being of people and their social groups (27), and thus plays a role in one’s healthiness. Though the United States spends more on health care per person than
