Candidate King gave a brief that contained information required to execute the mission, however nothing more. His orientation was thorough, but SNC never actually said “Orientation.” In his situation, SNC provided the essential information for the enemy but never began with stating the “Enemy Situation.” SNC’s mission contained information that was proper and had a task and purpose, but was not verbatim from the higher order. SNC did brief pretty confidently with little to no hesitation or stumbling throughout his order.

Strengths and weaknesses are often internal to organization, while opportunities and threats generally relate to external factors. For this reason, SWOT is sometimes called Internal-External Analysis and the SWOT Matrix is sometimes called an IE Matrix. The first step in SWOT is strength of the organization for retention of nursing staff. To develop a retention strategy is identifying the factors that motivate nurses to stay.
My knowledge in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) continues to expand as I progress through the DNP program. The knowledge I have attained while in the study of the DNP I and DNP II is priceless. For example, recognizing stakeholders and utilizing networking has helped me to progress on my DNP project (Gokenbach, 2012). I also have a better understanding as well as the purpose of a DNP project. My mentors have been great in directing me in remaining on the right track.
This week I had the opportunity to spend some time in both the OR and Endoscopy unit. Going into the practice days I was excited and optimistic about what I was going to take away from the experience, as I considered my possible future in working in the operative setting. However, by the second day of practice, I realized that I wasn’t overly excited about either of the units and that the expectations I had set out, didn’t quite match up like I had hoped. Even though I don’t feel as though nursing in either of the units is for me, I was able to take away new knowledge that I believe has enhanced my overall nursing practice.

During my course with NSCC, where I am studying to become a Continuing Care Assistant. Each student is required to work in a continuing care facility alongside other health care providers for a month. I attended skills development placement at Harbour View Lodge located in Sheet Harbour. This placement has given me the opportunity to apply my knowledge, and skills that I have studied and practiced in the classroom. When entering the facility the first week I felt nervous and excited at the same time.

Upon graduation from LaGuardia, I plan to begin my career in hospitals and work with children and families as a Registered Nurse. At the same time, I am planning to go at Hunter College to pursue a Bachelor degree in Nursing too. After successfully pursuing the BSN degree, my goal is to study for Physician Assistant and become one. The reason I am choosing this long way is that I want to gain experience as a Registered nurse in hospitals while continuing my higher education to achieve a degree in Physician Assistant.
