What we stand for More support for those who are suffering from mental illnesses and their families The Australian Health Party knows how hard it is too cope with mental illness or even be with someone who has an illness so we aim to do what the current government is failing to do and give longer lasting support to those with any sort of illness. Right now 1 in 5 Australian's between the ages of 14-16 have a mental illness such as depression or anxiety but a further 1 in 5 Australian over the age of 18 have chronic illness. We asked you if you believed that more should be done for those who are ill and 95% of you said that you believe the Australian government should do more for those who need the support and the families who are supporting those people. We will be going around schools to educate young people about mental illnesses but do it in a fun interactive way so the people will get something out of it. We aim to do more advertising so people who feel helpless or feel like there is something not right with them will open up and come get help. For families who are struggling we will give them ongoing support by giving them small amount of money to help with medication and any extra instruments they will need for their loved ones. People who have more than three chronic will only have to pay for half of their medication and will not have to pay for normal check ups. Spreading more awareness about mental illnesses like depression and anorexia and offering more help for those who have the illnesses will drop suicide rates which is our main goal, to give more life to to the youth of
