The Management of Grief and Heart of Darkness are very similar stories if you are looking They both are about its lovers and their lovers’ issues how the reality is being kept out of the way. They both show what true love really does to people and how it can affect others in the path. The both show how people try not to view reality.
The Management of Grief was a very interesting story, yet it was sad at the same time. This story was based on and actual event that took place in India. Shalia lost her husband and two kids. Marlow, which is the main character of Heart of Darkness, is a captain of a steamer boat. As Marlow prepared his ship for its travel he had a special man that he wanted to meet and he wanted to meet him more and more. The man Marlow wanted to meet was Mr. Kurt. Mr. Kurt was a very bad man. He killed lots of natives that were around his station and some that was on the same river he worked on. Mr. Kurt was married but was shared mad love with this one native woman. Mr. Kurt had a letter saying he was suppose to terminate the savages which was the natives. Marlow was already attached by the natives on the way to meet Mr. Kurt. Marlow managed to survive the fight and scare of the natives with the steamer whistle. Mr. Kurtz station was attacked and he was heart very badly. After the attack Mr. Kurt said some works and ran off the natives but one Native remain and stood there standing and staring at Mr. Kurtz. It was true love. Mr. Kurtz had love for this native woman and she had love for him. She didn’t know that Mr. Kurtz had a wife back at home that loved him so much she looked up at him as if he was a king. The Natives felt that the love between the native woman and Mr. Kurtz was crazy and it shouldn’t happen because Mr. Kurtz killed lots of natives and took their things
