The Hebrew are said to be God’s chosen people. With a covenant forged between Abraham and God, the Hebrew people began to worship one God. The terms of the covenant would require obedience to a set of ethical and spiritual obligations…known as the Ten Commandments (Fiero, 30). It is by these Ten Commandments that millions of people try to live by on a daily basis. Although there are more people following Christianity, the bases of Christianity started with the Hebrews. It was also the bases for Islam. The Hebrews and their faith had a huge impact on religion as we know it.
