On January 29, 1991, a vile crime occurred in the Heikkila home in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. Twenty-year-old Matthew Heikkila, the adopted son of Richard and Dawn Heikkila loaded up a “sawed-off 20-gauge shotgun” (Sullivan). He labeled shotgun shells “Mom” and “Dad”, and shot his parents both in the head. Matthew plotted the murder to get the chance to steal his parent’s credit cards, and treat his girlfriend to a birthday dinner. Matthew then left his parent’s dead bodies on the floor of his home and he and his girlfriend enjoyed a night in NYC.

HARRISBURG, Pa. (Reuters) - A Pennsylvania man and his wife were each sentenced to up to four decades in state prison on Wednesday after pleading guilty in the murder of their disabled nine-year-old son, who was found starved to death in a dark, feces-smeared room last year. Judge John Cherry of Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas said Jarrod Tutko Sr., 39, and Kimberly Tutko, 40, were equally culpable in the death of Jarrod Tutko Jr. and the near-death of his sister Arianna, now 12. He sentenced the father to 21 to 42 years in prison, and gave his wife a sentence of 20 to 40 years.
This new American State will be called Monkaushka derived from the Native American term: trembling earth or earthquake. The people that live in this state are incredibly friendly people who have a tendency to be outspoken with their beliefs and warm in their hearts. They are homely folk who tend not to leave their close knit areas for too long. There is an folk tale that crawls around the towns that no one has ever left this state; only those who weren’t born here can come and go. You would think that is ridiculous, but the landscape that this state resides on is unlike any other state and can verify the legend for many people.

The Taizokai mandara reflects the influence of Korean esoteric Buddhist art in its use of vivid colors, detailed depictions of the Buddhist cosmos, and symmetrical composition. The Taizokai mandara reflects several unique features that are characteristic of Japanese art. One of these characteristics is the use of gold leaf, which was a common feature of Japanese art during the Heian period.
Bawa’s concept sought to emphasize his immediate impressions of the site – an impenetrable ridge occupied by an old cave hermitage, opening up to a broad vista across the Kandalama tank to Sigiriya. The drama of the view was to be enhanced by compressing the entrance through a narrow cave-like passage, seemingly tunneling through the ridge (figure 8). On the other side, the visitor would arrive on an upper level of an artificial cliff, separated from but aligned with the contours of the rock face. His proposal was highly sensitive to the landscape in which it was situated, offering a heightened sense of the topography of the site whilst concealing the mass of the building along the cliff edge. The building was also to be masked in a blanket of vegetation so that no trace of it could be seen from afar.
