Helen Keller was an excellent lady in past history. Keller had very many accomplishments in life and was very proud of them. Also, Helen went through many painful things in life. Not only physically, but mentally and emotionally too. Helen Keller was born on June 28, 1880 in Tuscumbia, Alabama. When she was born, she had her sight and hearing. She also started speaking at six months old. Helen was at the age of two when her mother noticed something. Keller was then taken to the doctors where the family doctor told her family that she had "brain fever". Later on, after she was taken to the doctor, things were still going on. Her mother and father noticed that she wasn’t reacting to things like the dinner bell or someone's hand waving in front of her. She began to grow up and gained limited communication. Keller could communicate with her friend, Martha Washington, the family cook's daughter. Helen and Martha made two different types of sign language. By the time Helen was seven, she had made 60 signs of communication. Later on, Helen became wild during this time. Some different signs from Helen to another was, kicking and screaming when she's angry. Another is she would laugh uncontrollably when she is happy. Throughout Helen's rough time, she had her family there with her. Her sister, Mildred, and brother, Phillips, were always there. Her very supporting parents, Arthur and Kate, took care of her.
