Heroic Action Research Paper We all know the plot in almost all the books and movies today. There is a hero who takes down a villain and everything becomes right in the world. But, what if the villain does a good deed? Can a villain become a hero? Can an act make a person a hero, even if they’ve had a bad past? As a child, he was exiled from Britain. In another story, Merlin and the Dragons, about a boy named Emrys who grew up to be Arthur’s mentor, there was an evil man who went by the name of Vortigern. Vortigern unjustly claimed to be High King of Britain. He traveled to a village in Wales and threatened the villagers with wizards if they didn’t do what he said. At the near end of the story, there was an army of men who went to fight and defeat Vortigern. The person who led the attack was Uther Pendragon. If a hero is all the things that were mentioned, then Uther Pendragon must be a hero. When he led the attack, he didn’t turn back to save himself,. Uther risked his life knowing that Vortigern had an army of wizards against him and if Uther and his army lost the battle., Hhe knew that he would be in danger since he lead the attack and was still brave enough to do it. He would have known that if he killed Vortigern, he would become king, because Vortigern only claimed he was king. In conclusion, Uther Pendragon is indeed a hero who had a bad past. He was exiled as a child from the kingdom that he soon became king of because of his act of heroism.
