No matter who someone's hero is one thing stays the same. A hero is someone that has strived to help out of their own will. Anyone could be a hero. However not everyone is a hero. Being a hero takes courage.
In my opinion, Dorothea Dix fits my definition of a hero because she not only did something to improve the life of one person, she improved the lives of thousands, without worrying about the consequences of her actions. That day when she went to teach Sunday school in East Cambridge, she could have done nothing about the terrible conditions that the prisoners had to endure. She could have chosen to ignore them. But instead, she let her courageous and nurturing ways take over, and she campaigned for the rights of those
What is a hero? A hero is someone who stands up in there rights and beliefs for good. Three heros are Miep Gies,Harriet Tubman, and Jackie Robinson. In the article,Woman who helped anne frank dies at 100 Written by Teri Schultz, National Public Radio in 2010 is a story about a woman named Miep Gies she acted heroically because she helped anne frank and her family hide from the holocaust. A hero is someone who acknowledges courage, hope, and bravery. They can come from anywhere and can be anyone. Taryn Davis mirrors the characteristics of a hero because she overcame terrible grief, persevered to start her own program, and made a difference through donations and helping other woman. Taryn Davis overcame terrible grief and that’s why she is a hero.
She was the first African American to desegregate a school when she was only 6 years old. She also changed the education system to what it is today. Now all races are allowed to attend every school and she improved the cause of civil rights. She was very brave for a six year old child. Even when many adults would say rude things to her and call her names, she ignored all of them and went to school everyday no matter what.
If hero can be defined as someone who is selflessly caring for others and trying to heal the hurt, then Clara Barton is a hero. She saw something she believed would help her country and the people that lived there and made it happen. Looked at the sadness of war as an opportunity to help those fighting non-violently. As well as, help stand up for those treated unequally and unfairly by society.
A person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. Coretta Scott King was an activist for equal rights for people of color. She worked with her husband, Martin Luther King Jr., but she was a hero all on her own. One example of her work is that in 1957, she traveled to Ghana to mark the nations independence. I believe that a hero is someone is willing to try even when it seems impossible.
Rosa Parks is known for her refusal to surrender her seat to a white passenger on a public bus in Montgomery, Alabama. Due to the bus incident, it caused a citywide boycott, and helped launched a nationwide effort to end segregation in the public. She is one of the greatest people in history, for her beliefs and actions. I admire Rosa Parks for what she has done to help end segregation. She felt that nobody should be treated differently because of the color of their skin.
Heroes in our society are revered and respected as Joseph Campbell reminds us: “A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself” (Joseph Campbell). Heroes exist in all societies and throughout history. Maybe they are not always on the news or from the movies, but their words and their actions never fail to resonate across their feats. A hero gives of himself and dedicates himself to causes which better others and their society unlike individuals who are self serving, greedy, and cruel.
Jazz Jennings Heroes are people who stand for what they believe in. A hero is someone who is selfless, thinks of others before themselves, and has made a significant impact. Most heroes believe that the world can always be changed for the better. An example of a great hero is Jazz Jennings, one of the youngest transgender girls who is strong and proud of who she is.
A true hero is a person that takes other people’s lives over their own and saves those lives in the risk of their own. Harriet is all over that definition. She saved over 300 people and not one person that she took with her was caught or killed. Harriet was an abolitionist, who lead the movement to end slavery. Many people declined that statement, but it is true.
A person who has the audacity and willingness to leave a positive effect on others is what it means to be a hero. To illustrate, in the book “Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad” by David
They’re bountiful people in this universe that experienced problems. To add on, from my perspective, it is necessary to find solutions to existing problems due to the fact Rosa Parks overcame her obstacle when she was arrested and fined, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. going to prison for trying to abolish segregation of the blacks and whites. First of all, in Montgomery, Alabama during the Civil Rights Movement, the African-American had to sit on the back of the bus, while on the other hand, the whites can sit in the front. To put it differently, Rosa Parks despised the fact that she had to sit in the back of the bus which made her refused to yield her bus seat to a white male passenger.
A hero is someone who displays acts of courage, outstanding achievements, and nobility. Frederick Douglass
The Process of Elimination Temptation The darkest, most fickle and most destructive aspect of the human psyche is temptation. As the instigator of evil, it inveigles the mind into fulfilling its deepest desires while paying no heed to the longstanding consequences. It provokes lying, hurting and killing, all of which we observe Macbeth executing in William Shakespeare’s play, Macbeth. By further analysing the actions and motives of Macbeth, I questioned the most devious human aspect.
